Today we’re reminiscing on Liz and Eric’s very classic and quintessential Pittsburgh engagement session from a sunny evening last June. Together, we chose a few locations that fit the vibe they were going for and showcased some of the most iconic architectural gems in the city.

We started the engagement session off with some portraits at the impressive columns of The Mellon Institute in Oakland. Despite its popularity, I feel like you can never go wrong with the clean lines and neutral backdrop–always classic, always elegant. For some variety and vibrant greenery, we walked around the grassy grounds of the Cathedral of Learning and snapped the most precious photos with their sweet and beloved pup Jax!

Of course, no Pittsburgh engagement session would be complete without paying homage to the city’s skyline and iconic yellow bridges. Making our way to the North Shore, we found ourselves on the Rachel Carson Bridge, just as the sun dipped towards the horizon, casting a golden glow over the city. As we ascended the bridge, we encountered construction crews preparing to close it off. However, with a stroke of luck, one generous crew member granted us a few precious moments to capture some moments on the closed empty bridge–without traffic. We were beyond stoked to say the least, and the playful photos of Liz and Eric full of laughter say just as much. We had the best time and it’s nights like these that make me so grateful for my job as a Pittsburgh wedding and engagement photographer.
