Today I’m so stoked to share some photos from this Pittsburgh North Shore proposal from a few weeks ago! Planning the perfect proposal can be stressful, but I’m so glad that Ryan reached out to me on Instagram asking me if I could help him capture the moment when he popped the question to his girlfriend Morgan. I love a good surprise and was more than happy to lend my experience and expertise as a Pittsburgh engagement photographer to make sure this moment was picture-perfect.

Ryan knew he wanted to have the city’s iconic skyline as a backdrop and considered both the West End Overlook and Pittsburgh’s North Shore Riverfront as potential proposal locations. With two great choices in mind, Ryan ultimately decided on the Riverfront and together we chose a spot near Acrisure Stadium that showed off the city and bridges best! I drove down earlier in the week and selected a spot for myself where I would be able to casually hide out and capture the moment. It was important to me to be discreet and not cause any suspicion before Morgan knew that she would be getting engaged. Ryan and I solidified our plan and crossed our fingers that the rain would stay away.

It ended up being a very grey, but dry (yay!) March day. All I had to do then was wait for the couple to arrive and for Ryan to get down on one knee. Spoiler alert: she said yes! I was grinning ear-to-ear behind my camera upon witnessing Morgan’s genuine shock and excitement. I stayed back, capturing images from a slight distance and allowing them some time to soak up this intimate moment together. After a few minutes, I was able to join in on the excitement we took some more posed photos to celebrate the occasion. It’s safe to say that this Pittsburgh North Shore proposal was a complete success.
