Out of all the wonderful wedding venues in Pittsburgh, a Hartwood Acres Mansion wedding never fails to be one of my absolute favorites. Today I’m reminiscing on Erin and Dan’s May gorgeous and chic wedding day planned and coordinated by Wynn Event Planning & Design.
Erin and Dan planned an intimate outdoor wedding with a limited guest count in order to stay present during the day and spend quality time with those they cherish most. Though it was a bit rainy and gloomy–a typical Pittsburgh spring day, for sure–they made the most out of every moment. My many years of experience as a Pittsburgh wedding photographer has prepared me for weather of all types, and I often feel that the misty rain can bring a beautiful atmospheric quality to the images.
Following a brief ceremony filled with heartfelt and personal vows, we headed around the grounds of the mansion to make magic with their wedding portraits. One of my personal favorite images from the day was taken through the paned glass window of the mansion.
The little details of this day were *chef’s kiss.* The couple requested one single long dinner table so that their reception felt like a family dinner celebration at home. The blue floral linens truly made the tablescape a showstopper, and they paired beautifully with simple hydrangeas and natural textured placemats and table numbers. Erin and Dan’s reception was even complete with a cigar lounge for their guests to enjoy after dinner.
Hartwood Acres Mansion weddings never get old to me and Erin and Dan were an absolute dream to work for. I hope to photograph many more events here in years to come!
